#1. Educational Qualifications of Army GD for Female – Indian Army Female GD Eligibility

To fulfil educational qualifications, one must have all the following:

  • The applicant must be minimum 10th/metric pass or equivalent from a recognized board.
  • The applicant must have scored minimum 33% marks in each subject in class 10th.
  • The applicant’s minimum overall percentage in 10th should be 45%.

Note: Though, anyone who satisfies the above educational qualifications can apply, but, due to shortage of vacancies only the shortlisted candidates are called for physical test. Keep on reading to know how are applicants shortlisted for PFT.

# 2. Age Limit of Army GD for Female – Indian Army Female GD Eligibility

The Age limit for female candidates in the Indian army GD is 17½  to 21 years, as per the documents. As per recruitment notification of 2021, only those candidates who’s date of birth lies between 01 Oct 2000 to 01 Apr 2004 can apply.

Note: There is no age relaxation for any group, category or cast. However, the female candidates who are widows of defense personnel who have died in harness are given the age relaxation, they can apply till 30 years.

The applicant must be a citizen of India or Gorkhas (Nepalese & Indian).

# 4. Marital Status For Women Military Police in the Indian Army – Indian Army Female GD Eligibility

Candidates with different marital status can apply for army female GD MP under the following conditions:

  1. Unmarried: The unmarried candidate should have the unmarried certificate with photograph issued within the last six months.
  2. Married: Married female candidates who are widowed, divorced, or legally separated but do not have any children can also apply.
  3. Women who are widows of defense personnel (who have died in harness) and have children but not remarried are also eligible to apply.

Weight required for women military police – Indian Army Female GD Eligibility

There is no specific weight measurement. However, weight should be according to the candidate’s height and age as per the Indian army medical standards. Relaxation in height is given in the above table.

# 6. Medical Standards for Army GD for Female – Indian Army Female GD Eligibility

  • Candidate should undergo medical exam & physical test on their own, before joining the recruitment rally. And candidate should also check that they don’t have a flat foot, poor vision, any deformities.
  • Fitness: A candidate must be physically healthy and free from any disease.
  • Gender: For Women Military Police (Army GD), the candidate should be female. Any candidate having masculine characteristics on the external physical exam will be rejected as UNFIT.
  • Pregnancy: The candidate should not be pregnant. If any female candidate is found pregnant, she will be marked as UNFIT or get rejected.

Indian Army Female GD Selection Process – Registration, Physical, Medical, & Written Test

Let’s take a look at the selection process of the Indian Army GD Bharti for females in detail. The different stages in the selection process for Female GD in the Indian army are as follows:

Female candidates who are interested or who have applied for army GD (Women military Police) should know the selection or recruitment process. Now let’s discuss these stages of the recruitment process in detail.

#1 Registration & form filling – Indian Army Female GD Eligibility

The recruitment notification for female GD is mostly released in the month of June by the Indian army via joinindianarmy.nic.in or ARO (Army recruitment office). One should stay in touch with the official website or this website or employment news papers and websites to make sure not to miss the notification.

Once the notification is released, then the first thing the interested candidates should do is to make a one time registration on official website (if not done already). Though it’s better if you register yourself before the notification is out. In order to apply for any Bharti rally or recruitment, the candidate must have the online registration on the official website (joinindianarmy.nic.in) within the given period. If the candidate is eligible for the post, then she can fill the online application form and submit it.

#2 Short listing for PFT – Indian Army Female GD Eligibility

The female recruitment in general duty trade is a new addition to Indian army due to which there are very few vacancies for this post. For the year 2021 there are only 100 vacancies, but the applications are received from all over the country. So, to make the selection process easy and to filter the candidates, not everyone who apply is send the admit card.

First a cutoff based on class 10th percentage is released, then only those candidates who are within the cutoff are considered. Still, if there are too many applicant left, more filtering methods are used, and finally the selected applicants are send the admit card on their registered email id (alternatively, the admit card can also be downloaded from the official website by logging in to your profile).

Note: The cutoff goes really high for admit card. For the year 2020 it was 85%.

Admit Cards for the recruitment rally will be sent through registered e-mail. The candidate should download the Admit Card & print its hard copy. The Time (Date) & venue (Location) of the recruitment rally is mentioned in the Admit Card.

#3 Physical Measurement & Physical Fitness Test (PFT) – Indian Army Female GD Eligibility

The first stage of the selection process in the recruitment rally is PFT (Physical Measurement & Fitness Test). In the Measurement test, Height, Weight, Chest will be examined by the army recruiters. And next is the physical fitness test. The major tests of physical fitness test (PFT) are Running, Long Jump, & High Jump.

⇒1.6 Km Running

Running is the most important & hardest physical test that candidates face. To pass this test one need to finish the 1.6 Km (1600 meters) race within the given time. Here are the time constrains for different groups:

Group – I: candidates who will finish the race within 7 min 30 sec will be placed in group I.

Group – II: Finishing the race between 7.30 to 8 min will lead in group II.

Note: Time taken more than 8 min will result in disqualification. The compition is always high for army bharti, therefore, everyone comes fully prepared and try to finish the race as soon as possible. The sooner the first person will finish the race, the smaller the chances will be for people finishing late. So, keep yourself well prepared for race and do not rely on 7.30 min, the sooner your complete the race, the better your chances.

Provision for extra time for race in hilly terrain: If the recruitment rally is located at the following height then extra time will be given for race.

  • Between 5000 Feet to 9000 Feet – Add 30 seconds in overall timings
  • Between 9000 feet to 12000 Feet – Add 120 seconds in overall timings.

⇒LONG JUMP

In order to qualify for the physical test, one need to qualify for the long jump of 10 feet. Candidates will be given 3 attempts to qualify for long jump.

⇒HIGH JUMP

To proceed further in physical test, the participants nee to qualify the high jump of 3 feet. Candidates will be given 3 attempts to clear this test.

To proceed to next stage of selection process, one need to clear all of these physical test (running, long, & high jump).

#4 Medical Test (Medical Standards) – Indian Army Female GD Eligibility

Participants who will clear the physical test will then undergo the medical test. Medical test is usually conducted on the same or next day of rally.

Candidates undergoing the medical test should be in good physical & mental health condition. they should be free from any disease & disability and capable of doing duty/work (Military task) in all situations (all weather and across all terrains).

  • Fitness: Good fitness (Physical & Mental) is essential for the Indian army. Good physical fitness with good vision (eyes) clean and wax free ears, clean nose, etc.
  • Gender: On external physical exam, If any candidate has masculine characteristics, will be marked as UNFIT and rejected. Because this is the Army GD category (Women Military Police) for Female. And the candidates who have done gender reassignment surgery, are not eligible for the Army GD female Bharti.
  • Pregnancy: Pregnant candidates will be disqualified. And candidates have to bring the medical certificate of No Pregnant Status from a Government Medical Doctor on reporting for the recruitment rally. And again a fresh medical certificate of NO pregnant status when reporting to the Training center.
  • Amenorrhoea or Menorrhagia:  In the medical examination, all candidates should bring a medical certificate that they do not suffer from primary or secondary amenorrhoea or menorrhagia.

The UNFIT candidates will be referred to the MH (Military Hospital)/CH/BH for medical test & review. Candidates who are referred for medical review should present themselves to the hospital within 14 days of referral and also report back to ARO (Army recruiting office)  for the issue of admit card for written exam, in case the candidate declared as medically FIT.

It is advised for all the candidates from the Indian army that they should have done their medical exam on their own before coming for the recruitment rally.

#5 Written Test Via Common Entrance Exam (CEE) – Indian Army Female GD Eligibility

All medically fit candidates are given the admit card for CEE or written exam on the same day of medical test. In the admit card all the details like exam venue, time and date of examination are given. Usually the written exam is conducted with 1 month or so after the medical test.

Here are some important details about the written exam of women military police:

The written exam will be of 100 Marks and the minimum passing marks for the exam is 35 marks. Candidates having NCC ‘C’ certificate, will be waived off from the written exam i.e., they will not have to give the written exam.

Exam Pattern for the Written exam

The exam  pattern for male and female GD is same. There will be four sections/subjects in the written exam as mentioned below.

  1. General Knowledge – 15 Questions (30 Marks)
  2. General Science – 15 Questions (20 Marks)
  3. Mathematics – 15 Questions (30 Marks)
  4. Logical Reasoning – 05 Questions (10 Marks)

Negative Marking in the Written Exam of Army GD for Female

  • The Negative Marking Scheme would be applicable in the written exam (CEE) of Army GD for females.
  • 0.5 marks will be deducted for every wrong answer or 1 mark will be deducted for every two wrong answers.

The result of the written exam will be declared on the official website of the army i.e., joinindianarmy.nic.in. That means no additional letter of the result will be sent to the candidate. Tattoo Policies in the Indian army recruitment for Female

Indian army permits tattoo only in some cases. Permanent body tattoos are only permitted on the inner face of the forearms. This means tattoos are permitted from inside of the elbow to the wrist and on the other (Opposite) side of the palm/backside of the hand.

While permanent body tattoos on any other part of the body will not be acceptable and such candidates will be rejected from the further selection process in the Indian army.
